Background… Photography has always been one of my many
passions. This came into full swing as I worked as a successful hair and make up stylist. It was a seamless incorporation of my hair and make up work with the art of photography.Photography became an
intrinsic part of everything I did and it became clear that the interest was clearly to become my career direction. My interest in photography started when I photographed my hair and make up designs. Extensive traveling
has given me many opportunities to extend my perception of cultural, architectural, social and sexual differences inspired by logical colors and substances of urban society. The result has been an ongoing set of fashion
and lifestyle studies with inimitable flair and creativity. Ability to work both as the hair and make up stylist and photographer
created the opportunity to follow through the creative imagery behind the lens to what was produced through the lens. This resulted in the production of a number collection shoot for fashion and lifestyle
magazines as well as advertising campaigns. My long-standing passion for photography and image development inspired me to experiment
and improvise, to visualize emotion with motion. I learnt to control unexpected and unpredictable conflict of light and colors where predictions are not always allowed or possible. Images seem to possess a far more
acute reality than the subjects themselves. Image can surpass reality, larger than life, Colors can be empty or bright.
The photograph became the distillation, the essence of my perceptions of people, fashion and style. |
